The Netflix Original Psycho But It’s Okay is a psychological drama and romance with global popularity. The drama, also named It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, even received a 9/10 on IMDb. The 16 gripping episodes are available for viewing after airing June 20, 2020 – August 9, 2020. The talented main cast features Kim Soo-Hyun, Seo Ye-Ji, and Oh Jung-Se.

The drama follows the path of the temperamental children’s book author Ko Mun-Yeong (Seo Ye-Ji) as she drops her new book. As fate has it, she quickly finds interest in the bitter health worker Moon Gang-Tae (Kim Soo-Hyun). They cross paths at the hospital he works at since she happens to have a book reading for the young patients. They quickly butt heads. Gang-Tae’s autistic brother Moon Sang-Tae (Oh Jung-Se) also happens to be a fan of Mun-Yeong and quickly becomes involved in their turbulent dynamic. Unwittingly, their pasts connect in ways they never knew. As the show goes on, they must rely on each other to heal from their trauma.

The show explores various aspects of mental health as they face their issues head-on. Some of these aspects include childhood trauma and toxic relationships (familial and romantic). It’s equally enjoyable, quirky, and tragic with the uncomfortable and comedic situations created. If you like fairy tales, this is the perfect show for you! The plot and themes come from the fairy tale style of writing with lessons to be learned. It also has dark moments regarding death, abuse, and psychopathy.

Itaewon Class is also a drama on Netflix that features a strong, independent female lead. And, another drama that highlights mental health and healing is Chocolate. If you liked either of these shows, check out Psycho But It’s Okay on Netflix!
